Baden in Pictures
I've already posted pictures of Brugg, the next larger town from PSI. Baden is one train stop further from Brugg, and somewhat bigger.
The town of Baden would most likely not have appeared on my radar at all had not Michael, one of my closest friends from the guesthouse (where I was living while in Switzerland), moved there about a month after I came to the country.

Monthly Links - October
A number of factors outside of my control have conspired this week and led to me writing far less than I'd planned. I decided not to stress myself out trying frantically to finish the post I'm working on, but I also didn't want to leave a hole this week and find myself writing yet another apology next week.
Plus, this is a idea I'd been toying with for a while that I'm thinking of turning into a recurring series So, without further ado, here's a roundup of things I've enjoyed and/or found cool this past little while:

A Second Day of Hiking in the Sardona Tectonic Area
This is, as the title says, the second day of hiking in this region; the first day can be found here. This post is going up a day late due to midterms - I'm still working at keeping a consistent posting schedule!
When I woke
up on Sunday morning in the Segneshütte, I took my
time getting out of bed, still revelling in the luxury of a private room and
the joy of staying in this hut high in the amazingly beautiful Swiss alps.

Walking in a World Heritage Site: Hiking the Sardona Tectonic Area in Eastern Switzerland
The week
after my amazing first weekend in the Alps, I found myself simultaneously still
riding the high from that lovely experience and eager for a repeat. But where
to go?

The Best Way to Visit Jungfraujoch
I find myself continually apologizing for delayed blog posts, and this one is no exception. I'm still trying to get back to a regular posting schedule since getting home, but school and work keep getting in the way. I'll do my best to post regularly again, however!
I also wrote a blog post for the ThinkSwiss blog on my research in Switzerland in between this and my last post on here.
Alright, alright, I’ll give away the answer to my clickbait headline right at the start. The best way to visit Jungfraujoch, one of Switzerland’s most popular tourist spots, is…*drumroll please*…as a scientist.

Coffee and Weirdness: A Visit to the Giger Bar in Chur
I did some reading on sights to see in Switzerland before I left. Now, I promptly forgot the vast majority when I got there (most were either mountains or castles and I could get better tips from my coworkers on those anyways), but one did stick with me and I was determined to go see it.
To the presumably great surprise of those of you who know me and/or read my blog regularly, this sight had nothing to do with either old buildings nor with mountains.
No, this sight was the Giger bar.
